Executive Summary

The Problem

Calypso Deli & Bakery needed a website that made it easy for customers to browse products and order online. They wanted a website that reflected the quality of their bakery while giving customers a simple and enjoyable shopping experience.

My Goal

My goal was to build a website that looked warm and welcoming, showcased the bakery's products, and made online ordering as straightforward as possible. I wanted customers to be able to find what they needed quickly, whether they were visiting from a computer or a mobile phone.

Impact

Built a fully functional WordPress website with WooCommerce integration, giving Calypso Deli & Bakery a professional online presence and online store. The website contributed to a 150% increase in website traffic, helping more customers discover the business and its products online.

What I Did

I started by looking at other bakery and food websites to see what worked well and what didn't. From there, I planned the website layout, product categories, and navigation to make sure customers could easily find products and place orders.

I built the website in WordPress and integrated WooCommerce so products could be managed and sold online. The design used warm colours, high-quality photography, and simple layouts to reflect the bakery's friendly, handcrafted feel.

Challenges

One of the biggest challenges was creating a website that looked great while still being easy to use. It's easy to make a website look nice, but customers also need to find products, navigate categories, and complete an order without getting frustrated.

What I Learned

This project reinforced the importance of user experience for e-commerce websites. Even small things like clear navigation, organised product categories, and mobile-friendly layouts can make a big difference to how people use a website.

Final Result

The finished website gave Calypso Deli & Bakery a modern online store that matched the business's personality. Customers could browse products, place orders online, and learn more about the bakery through a simple, welcoming, and easy-to-use website.
