Executive Summary

The Problem

Calypso Deli & Bakery wanted to be more active on social media and showcase the amazing food they make every day. They needed content that would grab people's attention, promote their products, and help build a stronger connection with customers online.

My Goal

My goal was to create social media content that felt warm, friendly, and true to the Calypso brand. I wanted to make the food look as good online as it does in the bakery and give people a reason to stop scrolling, engage with the posts, and visit the store.

Impact

Created a range of social media content that achieved a 2% engagement rate and helped create a more consistent online presence. The campaign showcased Calypso's products, increased brand visibility, and introduced short-form video content through a promotional reel.

What I Did

I started by looking at what other bakeries, cafés, and food businesses were doing on social media and thinking about what would appeal to Calypso's customers.

I then created content featuring products such as catering baskets, banana nut muffins, beetroot hummus, and other bakery favourites. The aim was to highlight the quality and variety of the food while making the products look fresh, delicious, and worth trying.

I also created a promotional reel to showcase the bakery's products in a more engaging way. Along the way, I experimented with different layouts, colours, fonts, and images until I found a style that felt warm, welcoming, and consistent with the Calypso brand.

Challenges

One challenge was keeping the content looking fresh while still maintaining a consistent style. Every product needed its own personality, but the posts also had to look like they belonged to the same brand.

Food photography also played a big role, so it was important to make the products look appealing without overcomplicating the design.

What I Learned

  • Good food photography can make a huge difference on social media.

  • People are more likely to engage with content when it feels genuine and easy to understand.

  • Reels are a great way to show off products and capture attention quickly.

  • Sometimes simple designs work best because they keep the focus on the food.

Final Result

The final campaign included a mix of product posts and a promotional reel that showcased Calypso's catering options, bakery favourites, and deli products. The content created a more consistent look across social media and helped tell the story of the business through food, making the brand feel more familiar and approachable to its audience.
