Executive Summary

The Problem

Te Miro Mountain Bike Club needed a better website that could bring everything together in one place. Members needed access to club information, visitors needed trail maps and park information, and sponsors needed visibility. The club also wanted to attract more riders to the park and make it easier for people to learn about what Te Miro Mountain Bike Club offers.

My Goal

My goal was to create a website that was easy to use, easy to update, and helpful for both members and visitors. I also designed promotional posters to help spread the word about the park and encourage more people from around the Waikato to come and ride.

Impact

Built a new Wix website that brought membership information, events, sponsor information, trail maps, and club updates into one central location. The project contributed to a 150% increase in website traffic, helping more people discover the club and mountain bike park online.

What I Did

I worked closely with the club committee to understand what information people were looking for and how the website could better support the club.

The new website included membership information, event details, sponsor recognition, club news, and interactive trail maps to help visitors plan their rides. I focused on keeping the navigation simple so people could quickly find what they needed, whether on a phone or a computer.

Alongside the website, I designed promotional posters that highlighted the trails, facilities, and community atmosphere. The aim was to encourage more riders to visit and help raise awareness of the club across the region.

Challenges

The biggest challenge was designing a website that worked for lots of different people. Club members, new visitors, event participants, and sponsors all needed different information, so it was important to organise the content in a way that made sense.

What I Learned

  • People are much more likely to use a website when they can find information quickly.

  • Working closely with stakeholders helps achieve better results.

  • Good design isn't just about how something looks; it's about making things easier for people.

  • Community organisations need practical solutions that are simple to manage and update.

Final Result

The finished website gave Te Miro Mountain Bike Club a modern online home that was easier to use and easier to maintain. Combined with the promotional posters, the project helped showcase the park, support the club's activities, and make it easier for people to get involved with the local mountain biking community.
